Teresa Sutherland is known for co-writing Midnight Mass with director Mike Flanagan. The House on Haunted Hill and Absentia director has risen to the top of the heap when it comes to horror filmmaking. Now it’s Teresa Sutherland’s turn to show her directing chops to the world with her directorial debut premiering at the Toronto After Dark Film Festival. Lovely, Dark and Deep stars Georgina Campbell as a park ranger named Lennon who goes to something that she needs to uncover. She travels to the dangerous wilderness on her own to seek a missing child. While on this mission, she begins to experience some unsettling events when she goes deeper into the woods.

Lennon’s park ranger colleagues such as Jackson, played by Nick Blood start to question her sanity after these occurrences. As they become over-concerned about her well-being, things start to take a wrong turn. No pun intended. Lovely, Dark and Deep are based on true events of missing people in American National Parks. Who better than to take you into this uncanny world than Teresa Sutherland who knows a thing or two about the deep and dark woods? Welcome to Toronto, Teresa! FERNTV is looking forward to your premiere Sunday night.
