Neil Peart Documentary Premiere at TIFF 2026 | FERNTV
FERNTV hits the red carpet at TIFF for Neil Peart: No One’s Disciple, speaking with Rush legends Geddy Lee and Alex Lifeson, alongside Red Hot Chili Peppers drummer Chad Smith, about the enduring legacy of one of rock music’s greatest drummers.

FERNTV hit the red carpet at the 2026 Toronto International Film Festival for the world premiere of Neil Peart: No One’s Disciple, an emotional tribute to the legendary Rush drummer, lyricist and one of Canada’s most influential musicians. At the Princess of Wales Theatre in Toronto, FERNTV had the opportunity to speak with Red Hot Chili Peppers drummer Chad Smith and Rush bandmates Geddy Lee and Alex Lifeson about Peart’s extraordinary musical legacy and lasting impact on the rock world. Directed by Sam Dunn and Scot McFadyen, the documentary offers an intimate look at the man behind the drum kit, exploring his dedication to his craft, his personality and the profound influence he had on fellow musicians.
The film brings together Lee and Lifeson with some of the world’s most celebrated drummers, including Smith, Stewart Copeland of The Police, Danny Carey of Tool and Gavin Harrison, who pay tribute to Peart by taking on some of Rush’s iconic drum parts. Through archival footage, personal reflections and powerful musical performances, Neil Peart: No One’s Disciple celebrates not only Peart’s technical brilliance but also the friendships, humour and humanity that defined his life. For FERNTV, connecting with Smith and the two surviving members of Rush on the red carpet was a memorable opportunity to capture firsthand reflections on a Canadian music legend whose influence continues to inspire generations of artists and fans.
