MMA Fighter Cris Cyborg is leading #CyborgNation to global humanitarian efforts

Cris Cyborg is a household name when it comes to the world of MMA. She along with the likes of Rhonda Rousey have raised the viewership of females battling in mixed martial arts. The former UFC woman’s champ is fighting in The Octagon but in other areas of the world as well. For those who are not in the know, Cris Cyborg has been quite the advocate when it comes to a lot of pressing issues. Her global humanitarian efforts have not gone unnoticed.

She recently went to the country of Uganda in Africa to help a community initiative called Fight For the Forgotten. Cyborg was passionate and concerned about freshwater being available to two Batwa Pygmy Villages. The Brazilian was able to help fight for this Uganda’s villages’ right to clean and fresh water.

We spoke to Cyborg during the Collision Conference in Toronto to determine what it is like to be both an MMA fighter and a global humanitarian. This is one humbling interview from someone who has been a champ.
