SEAN PENN IN UKRAINE TO FILM RUSSIAN INVASION

Sean Penn was at the presidential briefing at the Presidential Office in Kyiv, Ukraine. He is working on a documentary on the truth of the Russian invasion. He had his collars up and shades on during the presser.

An IG story post of him and President Zelenskyy in discussions appeared which the Ukrainian president posted himself.

Penn has also been in talks with Deputy Prime Minister Iryna Vereshchuk and other military personnel and journalists.

President Zelenskyy praised the star on his Facebook page saying that he had the courage that many Western politicians lack.

“The director specially came to Kyiv to record all the events that are currently happening in Ukraine and to tell the world the truth about Russia’s invasion of our country.”

This is not Sean’s first time in Ukraine. He was here in late November.

Penn is a notable humanitarian with his respectable anti-war efforts. He founded the non-profit disaster relief organization CORE. It was a response to the efforts during the Haiti earthquake chronicled in his film Citizen Penn.

He has also helped in deploying teams for COVID-19 and vaccinations during the pandemic.

His project on the Russian invasion of Ukraine is in production with VICE Studios.
