The Julia Set: Powerful New Drama Premieres at TIFF 2026

Writer-director Niki Byrne makes her feature debut with The Julia Set, which will have its World Premiere at the 2026 Toronto International Film Festival as part of TIFF’s Special Presentations programme. The coming-of-age drama stars Chase Infiniti as Julia, a gifted young mathematician whose talents draw her into the fiercely competitive world of elite academia. When teaching assistant Pascal, played by Christopher Briney, recruits her for an intensive training program for the prestigious Putnam Mathematics Competition, Julia enters an environment where ambition, intelligence, and the pressure to succeed collide.
