Superstar rapper Machine Gun Kelly is getting his own “Purple Rain”

FERNTV is excited for this year’s slate of films at the Tribeca Film Festival is exciting with a star-studded lineup. Colson Baker, also known as Machine Gun Kelly, will star in the buzzworthy film Taurus. The film is a real-life depiction of the rapper’s life and his rise to stardom.

Directed by Tim Sutton, the film is an exploration and cautionary tale about the life of a musician similar to “Purple Rain” and “8-Mile.” Taurus goes into depth about addiction and mental health and how this fuels and drains the artistic process.

It’s been a while since we have seen a current musician lay down the facts about the current state of the industry in a cinematic format. Taurus should be an eye-opener for the audience.

Machine Gun Kelly’s real-time girlfriend Megan Fox will also star in the film. He also serves as a script consultant, composer and executive producer of the film showing his true personal investment.
