Two lost souls are ready to explore the afterlife in Director Mali Elfman’s debut
The iconic Tribeca Film Festival is just around the corner. It has fans and the film industry looking forward to this year’s slate of films. A film that is catching buzz is Next Exit which is Mali Elfman’s directorial debut. It pits two strangers Rose (Katie Parker) and Teddy (Rahul Kohli), who are set to join in a radical scientific study.
Curated by Dr. Stevenson (Karen Gilan), the Life Beyond project in San Francisco allows volunteers to commit pain-free suicide. Life Beyond provides an exploration of the afterlife which calls for these two strangers who are ready to die.
The two rent a car and launch a cross-country trip from New York to San Francisco. Exploring their hidden personal traumas and what has led them to their current path along the way.
The Tribeca Film Festival never disappoints when it comes to showcasing new directorial talent to the industry. Director Mali Elfman crosses genres seamlessly which is why many are keeping an eye on this film when it premieres this week at the festival.
The chemistry between Katie Parker and Rahu Kohli is so compelling that these two lost souls getting together is what the doctor ordered. FERNTV highly recommends this hidden gem.
