Tribeca Film Festival set to celebrate 25th anniversary of Darren Aronofsky’s Requiem for a Dream

The 2025 Tribeca Festival will commemorate the 25th anniversary of Darren Aronofsky‘s Requiem for a Dream with a special screening on Tuesday, June 10, at 8:00 PM at the SVA Theatre in New York City. This retrospective is part of Tribeca’s “Reunions & Retrospectives” series, celebrating landmark films and their enduring impact on cinema.
Following the screening, a conversation featuring director Darren Aronofsky and actress Ellen Burstyn—who earned an Academy Award nomination for her portrayal of Sara Goldfarb in the film—will delve into the making of the film and its lasting resonance. Brendan Fraser is listed as a panelist for this event; his collaboration with Aronofsky on the 2022 film The Whale—for which Fraser received critical acclaim—highlights the director’s ongoing influence in the industry. The anniversary screening underscores Requiem for a Dream‘s unflinching exploration of addiction and its innovative cinematic techniques that still motivate filmmakers and audiences alike. FERNTV says that this one is not to be missed.
