THE SUBLET CLOSES BLOOD IN THE SNOW
Closing out this year’s edition of the Blood in the Snow Canadian Film Festival was another exciting release from Black Fawn Films. The Sublet sold out as the closing night film at Blood in the Snow’s new venue which was located right in the heart of downtown Toronto at the Yonge-Dundas Cineplex theatre. This psychological thriller focuses on a young family who moves in temporarily into a sublet apartment with their almost newborn child. The husband Geoff, played by Mark Matechuk, is an actor trying to focus on his career while his wife Joanna, played by Tianna Nori, is a stay at home new mother. While Geoff is constantly not around the sublet apartment, Joanna begins to have a difficult time with the apartment as she discovers it has a violent past and that it may be haunted. Being a new mom and trying to juggle those responsibilities and discovering a dark truth of a similar like family who use to live there, she starts to question if she is actually going insane. Check out our FERNTV video with director John Ainslie as he discusses how The Sublet was put together as Black Fawn Films continues to reign in the horror genre on this side of the border and soon worldwide.
