Red Carpet Coverage of The Son @TIFF 2022
Director Florian Zeller leads his cast and crew on the red carpet for his new film The Son at TIFF 2022

It was quite the night for the red carpet premiere of The Son at the Toronto International Film Festival. After the success of The Father where Anthony Hopkins took home the award for Best Actor, the industry was excited for the next project from director Florian Zeller. The Son stars Hugh Jackman and Laura Dern and is based on a play by Florian Zeller called Le Fils.
Jackman plays Peter who must now take care of his 17-year-old son Nicholas. Who no longer wishes to stay with his mother Kate played by Laura Dern. Peter must juggle his new responsibilities of being a father to a newborn baby with his new partner Beth. Furthermore, a dream job offer in Washington is hanging over Peter’s head. But while he tries to give Nicholas all that he can, Peter recalls all the moments his father was not there for him in the past. This poses problems for both Peter and Nicholas at the present time.
In the absence of Laura Dern on the red carpet, Hugh Jackman led the promotion of the film. Jackman was early and courteous to all media to which he took the time to speak. He also highlighted the importance of keeping our mental health in check as it is affecting all walks of life.
Here is our video of when we were able to speak to Hugh Jackman about The Son.
The Son will be released in theatres on November 11th.
