HOT DOCS 2018: THE TROLLEY
If there is a documentary at this year’s Hot Docs Canadian International Documentary Film Festival that Torontonians should get up and go see, it would be none other than The Trolley by director Stephen Low. Â Set to be shown in IMAX at the Ontario Cinesphere, The Trolley explores around the world the history, power and potential of what is known today as being the streetcar otherwise known as a tram or a trolley. Â The Trolley also focuses on the city of Toronto as being one of the only cities in North America that has retained its streetcar network. Â The documentary goes on to explore the pride and connection we have to our streetcar use and how it can curb the auto focused world that which is contributing to the urban transportation problem because of the worldwide use of fossil fuels. Â Nevertheless, The Trolley is a film that Torontonians should see to show us how lucky we are to have such a great system in place. Â FERNTV spoke to director Stephen Low about The Trolley.
The Trolley will have its World Premiere at the Hot Docs Canadian International Documentary Festival on Saturday, May 5 at the Cinesphere, Ontario Place, Toronto, Canada at 3PM EST.
