Director Michael Showalter lands the closing slot at SXSW 2024 with his latest instalment. The Idea of You stars Anne Hathaway as a single 40-year-old mom who goes to Coachella to chaperone her daughter to the iconic music festival. Little did she know that she would bump into a person named Hayes Campbell played by Nicholas Galitzine. He is the lead singer of the hottest boy band on the planet August Moon.

Ella Rubin, Reid Scott, Annie Mumolo, Viktor White, Raymond Cham, Jaiden Anthony and Dakota Adan round out the cast. Hathaway produced the film, along with Cathy Schulman, Gabrielle Union, Robinne Lee, Eric Hayes, Showalter and Jordana Mollick.

The movie is based on the book by Robinne Lee. FERNTV thinks this one is for all those rom-coms lovers.

The Idea of You is set to close SXSW 2024.
