ALL THE STREETS ARE SILENT: THE CONVERGENCE OF HIP_HOP & SKATEBOARDING @TRIBECA 2021
Documentary shows an important time in music and culture on the streets of New York

Ready to go skateboarding once again? FERNTV can’t think of a better way to get the streets of New York buzzing again after a pandemic. Director Jeremy Elkin’s All The Streets Are Silent: The Convergence of Hip-Hop & Skateboarding (1987-1997) will premiere at the Tribeca Film Festival. Described as being “a love letter to New York”, the doc mixes elements of Paris Is Burning and Larry Clark’s Kids.
It was a significant time where skateboarding and hip-hop merged into a dominant force. Both streams of culture completed each other. It would have a lasting impact on the whole world. It was a turning point for both cultures and New York City.
Eli Gesner who was co-owner of the Zoo York skateboarding clothing line will narrate the film. Large Professor, known for his work with Nas and A Tribe Called Quest, will contribute to the original score.

From the opening of the club Mars to the clothing line Supreme, there is something for everyone in this film.. If you grew up during this time and it was a golden era for you as well as hip-hop music and skateboarding, then its time you go watch this as we are nearing this pandemic. Knock, Knock.
With never been seen before footage and insightful interviews, this film will make you feel nostalgic. Key figures such as Harold Hunter, Jefferson Pang, Rosario Dawson, Kid Capri, Kool Keith, Justin Pierce, Stretch Armstrong, Bobbito Garcia, Fab 5 Freddy, Dres from Black Sheep, Moby and Daryl McDaniels of RUN-DMC will have you vibing throughout the night. If you didn’t know, now you know.
This film is premiering at the Tribeca Film Festival on June 11th. The release in theatres/on VOD will be July 23rd.
