After the great success of the comedy Slightly Used, Fusion Films (Neil Green and Rob Sweet) has had their fans waiting on the edge of their seats to see what is coming out next. But like Monty Python, Fusion Films are giving you something completely different this time around. After the comedic perversions and snarky humour of Slightly Used, the scenery goes from a used-car lot into a closed down department store. Black Eve due to be released this year is a slightly different road that Neil Green and Rob Sweet will be driving to. The exciting and surprising turns in this film all have been GPSed by director Ryan M. Andrews (Behind Closed Doors, A New Design). The whole Fusion Films camp are setting their sights into the unknown and the mysterious which is quite the unique final destination. Black Eve does definitely sound like what it is shaping up to be and you will be rest assured that the producers will continue with their no-shame in my game mentality of filmmaking. With the in-your-face humour that we loved with Slightly Used, we curiously wonder how it would be with horror that might slap you across the cheek once or twice.
Black Eve focuses on a woman, played by Eva James, who has psychic abilities and attends a Halloween party to unfortunately discover that all of her friends have been killed in the early morning. She must retrace her steps to figure what exactly is going on in this disturbing bloodbath. What is interesting about this plot is how the way all these heads roll and who or what is of course responsible for all the corpses laying on the ground. The emotional battle that this woman has to face throughout the movie is something that definitely fits the silver screen. With her psychic abilities in place, it will be of something of interest to the path in which Andrews takes in terms of the cinematography of this film and how it will make you either jump or hold on to the edge of the seats. Who better to do that then the men who brought you the twists and turns of life in a used-car lot to now a setting in which George Romero was touted intelligent for in his film Dawn of the Dead.
